Character Design and Animation
What began as en exercise to draw a skeleton every day eventually turned into the creation of a few characters I see in an imaginary first-person-shooter deathmatch PvP game. The first character, Pele, wields a shotgun and revolver and was loosely inspired by Solaire of Astora from the Dark Souls franchise, and the Doom Slayer. Through this process I explored using Blender in combination with ToonBoom Harmony to 3D model objects and translate the precision of the modeled object into a cohesive artstyle within a frame by frame 2D animation.
I began experimenting with using my established motif of Bones vs Bugs using something that approaches art reminiscent of American traditional tattoos.
